The Sound of Music

" Nun / Frau Zeller "

Amanda is excited to be doing her first musical with SCCT this summer. Earlier this season you may have seen her as Juliet’s nurse in Romeo and Juliet or as a painter in Murder on the Orient Express. When not on the stage she is often seen serving concessions at the theater, and almost always has her five kids in tow. She thanks you for coming out to support live theater and hopes you'll tell your friends how great a time you had.  

" Nun / Ensemble / Trio of Herwegen "

Ana is a 13 year old 8th grader at North Middle. She is thrilled to be making her debut with SCCT. Before her roles in this production, Ana starred as Marie in The Nutcracker: The Musical, and as Street Kid in Carmen at the Sioux City Orpheum Theater. When not on stage, Ana enjoys singing with the Siouxland Youth Chorus, and North Middle Patriot Choir, as well as playing softball.  Ana would like to thank the directors and production team for giving her the opportunity to grow her love for live theater, and her wonderful family for their amazing support. She hopes you enjoy the show!  

" Von Schreiber "

Andrew is excited to be finishing the season with this classic show. You've likely seen him perform at SCCT, most recently as Bruce Niles in The Normal Heart or Officer Barrel in Urinetown. While he loves the theater and spends a lot of time here, he also enjoys playing video games and spending time with family and friends. He thanks you for coming out to see our show, and hopes to see you here again soon.  

" Mother Abbess "

Angela is a familiar face at SCCT. Her last role was that of Music Director/Pianist for Urinetown: The Musical. She loves working behind the scenes but always loves the opportunity to perform onstage as well. A lifetime fan of The Sound of Music, she is grateful for the chance to bring the role of Mother Abbess to life. She would like to thank her wonderful family, her directors and production team and you, the audience, for coming to the show and supporting live theatre in Siouxland!  

" Ensemble "

Elizabeth is thrilled to be back onstage at SCCT. You may have seen her as Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, Barbara in Night of the Living Dead, Mary in It’s A Wonderful Life, Nanny in Murder on the Orient Express, or Fiddler on the Roof. She is excited to be in a show her dad, Matt, played Captain von Trapp when he was in high school! She thanks her family and friends for their unwavering support of her passion and hopes you enjoy the show!

Grace is excited to be back onstage at SCCT. Past roles include Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit and Gladys Herdman in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. She has enjoyed performing in several productions at SCCT. When not on stage, Grace enjoys singing with Siouxland Youth Chorus and West Middle Choir, band, dance, and spending time with friends and family. She hopes you enjoy the show!

" Liesl "

Izzy is overjoyed to make her SCCT debut! Past roles include Susan Hollander in Don’t Drink the Water, Desdemona O’Toole in Silent, But Deadly, and Anne Putnam Jr. in Witches in Salem. When not on stage, Izzy is a sophomore at USD studying medical biology and staying involved with the university choir and her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. Izzy sends thanks to the cast, crew, and her family (on and off stage!)

Katelyn is happy to be back at SCCT. Past roles include Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance and Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. This summer she is not just in one musical, but two! Later this summer she will be gracing the stage of Le Mars Community Theatre as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Offstage, Katelyn is the 6-12 Vocal Music Director at Elk Point-Jefferson. She would like to send a massive thank you to her husband, Austin, son, Percy, and all of her family that made her being in two musicals this summer possible.  

" Marta "

Madeline is a 13-year-old 8th grader at North Middle School. No stranger to the SSCT stage, she has previously appeared in Fiddler on the Roof, Mary Poppins, A Christmas Carol, and many more. She has also performed at Lamb Theatre, North High, and with the Siouxland Civic Dance Association. Outside of theater, Madeline enjoys dance, pointe, traveling, tennis and playing with her dog Sally. She’s thrilled to be part of the show and hopes you enjoy it as much as she enjoys performing for you!  

" Nun / Ensemble "

Marie is thrilled to be back on the main stage at SCCT. She has been acting with SCCT since 2021 and was most recently seen as Greta in The Murder on the Orient Express. You can see her all over Sioux City performing, but she calls SCCT her home. She is the chairperson of the Black Box and enjoys bringing theatre to life. When not on stage she is a therapist at SMHC and a professor at Morningside University. She would like to thank her Husband and hopes you enjoy the show!  

" Louisa "

Mia is thrilled to be back on the Main Stage with the Sioux City Community Theatre . Past regional credits include her 1st role as a who in Suessical Jr,  a towns person Shrek the Musical. The last roles you may have seen her as the Bird Woman in Marry Poppins here earlier this year or as a fate in Hadestown at her High school show last April. When not on stage, Mia enjoys singing and thrifting. She would like to send a massive thank you to the cast, crew, her incredibly supportive family and everyone for believing in her and letting her do what she truly loves most. A huge shout out to the directors here at the Sioux City Community Theatre for loving her and making her feel valued and appreciated. And for reminding her why she loves doing this.  

" Sr. Sophia "

Sarah is excited to make her SCCT debut! She has previously participated as a member of the Chorus in the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra production of Georges Bizet's Carmen, and she sings as a community member with the Morningside Symphonic Chorus. Off stage, she is a Deputy County Attorney in Dakota County, Nebraska. She wants to thank her family, friends, and all the audience for coming to see the show!  

" Nazi / Ensemble "

 Scott is happy to be joining his son (Dylan) and grandson (Dane) in his debut with the SCCT Theater. Past performances have been The Music Man, Once Upon a Matress, Bye Bye Birdie and other variety shows. When not on stage, Scott enjoys retirement, travel, golf, choir, being steward of a family farm near Akron, IA while living in Omaha. He sends a thank you out to all the cast and crew for their hard work at SCCT and his supportive wife and family.  

" Nun / Baroness Elberfeld "  

Shelley is back on the SSCT stage for the 2nd time after last appearing in Fiddler on the Roof, and is especially delighted to be sharing the experience once again with her daughter Madeline. Off stage, Shelley owns Shell We Create LLC, a video content marketing business. A few of her favorite things: traveling, cheese, and of course her husband Fred, kids Alex & Madeline, and Sally the family dog. She hopes the show leaves you singing all the way home!
